David John Hudson

David John Hudson, the fourth son of Gerald Dean and Florence Gloria Hudson, was born on April 9, 1960, at the Beverly Hospital in Whittier, California. He graduated from California High School, Whittier, California, in 1978 and attended Pacific Christian College (now called Hope International University) in Fullerton, California, until 1984, when he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Art, with an emphasis in Illustration, and a minor in Bible.

While attending college, Dave was involved in a church youth group where he got to know a girl named Wendy Ceil Blanchard, the third daughter of Gale Boyd and Arlene Koehler Blanchard, who he had met in his senior year of high school. They were married at the San Gabriel Grapevine Park, California, on August 8, 1982. They resided in Fullerton, California, where they had two children, Ian Clark, and Trevor Dean.

In 1988, Dave and Wendy moved with their children to Los Osos, California, where they attended the Los Osos Christian Fellowship. Dave worked as an illustrator for the Ernie Ball Company, a guitar and guitar string manufacturer in San Luis Obispo, California, for six years. In 1994, they moved to Silver Spring, Maryland, and Gaithersburg, Maryland a year after that. During their three years in Maryland, they attended Covenant Life Church, while Dave worked for a design company called Jands, Inc. Wendy managed their church's bookstore and also worked for PDI International.

In 1997, Dave and his family moved to Kona, Hawaii, to receive cross-cultural training with a large, international volunteer Christian organization, and in July 1998, moved to Southern China where they lived for the next ten years. In 2008, Dave and Wendy moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where they now reside. Their oldest son, Ian, lives in Taipei with his wife, Cahleen. Ian graduated from Hope International University in 2006, and is currently getting his Master's Degree at the Taiwan Political University. Their second son, Trevor, lives in North San Diego County and is attending MiraCosta College while working for the San Marcos School District as a teacher's aid for a special education class. (2009)
